The quest for the perfect breton top has been an ongoing mission lasting, well, all of my life really. I will explain the situation… I walk into Zara (or actually any shop) and I eagle eye the perfect breton top. Is it the right navy colour? yes. Are the stripes thick but not too thick? yes. YES, let’s buy it and boom they don’t have my size. Now this incident must have happened in hundreds of shops over the years.
ALAS, I take a little peruse around River Island (clutching my Grazia 25% discount voucher obv) and along with a whole other heap of goodies pick up this perfect breton top. The material is ribbed and flirts out slightly from the waist, but my favourite feature is the sleeve length making it a perfect winter staple.
Today I styled it with some high waist light wash jeans (Topshop, the only denim I ever buy!) and my beaut of a find, lurking in the back of my wardrobe a vintage (well it is five years old) Chelsea Girl fur coat from River Island. Finished off with a new pair of River Island booties and a signature Mac lip in ‘cockney’.
