The quest for the perfect breton top has been an ongoing mission lasting, well, all of my life really. I will explain the situation… I walk into Zara (or actually any shop) and I eagle eye the perfect breton top. Is it the right navy colour? yes. Are the stripes thick but not too thick? yes. YES, let’s buy it and boom they don’t have my size. Now this incident must have happened in hundreds of shops over the years.
ALAS, I take a little peruse around River Island (clutching my Grazia 25% discount voucher obv) and along with a whole other heap of goodies pick up this perfect breton top. The material is ribbed and flirts out slightly from the waist, but my favourite feature is the sleeve length making it a perfect winter staple.
Today I styled it with some high waist light wash jeans (Topshop, the only denim I ever buy!) and my beaut of a find, lurking in the back of my wardrobe a vintage (well it is five years old) Chelsea Girl fur coat from River Island. Finished off with a new pair of River Island booties and a signature Mac lip in ‘cockney’.

So I have had the laziest of weekends (the best kind some would say) but after weeks of partying and too many large, dry white wines, I have revelled in my lie ins, wool jumpers and a multitude of hot drinks.
Saturday saw Blackburn Mall transformed into a fashion catwalk, bouncing with street mob groups, food stalls and ‘Queen of the Jungle’ and X Factor star, Stacey Solomon herself.
There is nothing better to do on a Sunday than have a lie in, sort your ‘life admin’ as I like to call it and wear the slouchiest of outfits.
And no the answer is not to throw the nearest cosmopolitan over her pretty little head.. don’t go wasting a drink!
So I have been using Tinder for a good few months now, probably more than I care to admit. I haven’t met up with anyone on there, if I’m being honest I haven’t had more than three cringeworthy exchange of messages but I always find myself clicking back on the flaming app (pun intended!)
This could just be the most versatile piece of clothing I have ever bought! Oh and I haven’t mentioned yet, it is part of the Topshop maternity line… lol. I am a sucker for sales, I would even go as far as saying 80% of my wardrobe is sale and I would very rarely buy Zara full price. But it’s finds like this for £10 that keep me addicted to the crowded rails, littered floors and less than subtle elbow shoves, oops maybe that is just me!
I normally hate these kind of posts, ‘what’s in my bag’ or ‘PRIMARK HAUL’ but i’m feeling pretty impressed with my room so wanted to share the pics!
So although we are in the depths of August and we should be filling our weekends with BBQs, picnics and all other sun-related, cider-drinking activities it is, unfortunately, GRIM outside.
